I owe my drive, determination, and grit to my humble beginnings. My 16 years in entrepreneurship (establishing atomi pte ltd) stem from watching my parents work hard to support our family. They raised us in a rented flat, yet managed to send my sister and me to university while facing challenges in a large extended family. Their efforts inspired me to appreciate what I have and not take anything for granted.

My journey began with a decade of corporate work before I bravely leaped to establish atomi. Since I was a fresh graduate, there’s no room for a graduation tour, a sabbatical, or even the concept of work-life balance, as we work 7 days a week; my focus is unwavering as I provide for my family and everyone in the atomi family.

 

Building a brighter future for my two daughters

Bringing in Actus Hause by Atomi has not been easy. In the past eight years, we have faced tough competition and challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and a tariff war. Yet, despite all these, we are soldiering forward with pride, determination, and perseverance. Running a business is tough; managing two is crazy, and collectively, a 25-years worth of collective time in Orchard Road within the same building feels like eternity. If this is not grit, what is?

As ACTUS häuse by atomi approaches its 8th anniversary on April 12, 2025, co-founder Andrew TAN embraces the opportunity to expand our businesses in Japan and Singapore. These countries have played a pivotal role in shaping our personal, family, professional, and business journeys, and we are excited to pursue our highest potential.
